Rise Up (2010–2011)

ESPN

Whether it’s recovering from the wake of Hurricane Katrina, the fall of the auto industry or steep budget cuts, schools across the country have been among the hardest hit in these turbulent times. ESPN looks to lend a helping hand to brave teachers, coaches, and students by partnering with local businesses to renovate athletic facilities in schools throughout America that are most in need of something to cheer about. From Eleanor McLain Secondary School in New Orleans to Ingraham High School in Seattle, RISE UP hits the courts, fields, and tracks to provide one of childhood’s most important necessities: a place to play. Watch as sports celebrities such as Peter Carroll and Wes Welker pitch in to transform waterlogged gyms scourged by rats and dilapidated weight rooms into world class athletic facilities and healing communities.
