Big City TV is a full-service content production company headed by President and CEO Lori Rothschild Ansaldi—one of the leading developers and Executive Producers in the non-fiction television industry. From groundbreaking work in the true-crime genre to their history changing documentary series, BCTV looks for inspiring stories, relatable characters, and unbelievable real life and historical moments that define us as people.
Rothschild Ansaldi’s passion for storytelling and finding fascinating characters has resulted in several hit series including TLC’s THE 7 LITTLE JOHNSTONS, Discovery ID's THE CORONER: I SPEAK FOR THE DEAD, OWN’s THE GOLDEN SISTERS, A&E’s DEADLY WIVES, and Discovery ID’s MURDER BOOK. Her D.B. COOPER: CASE CLOSED? for History was the highest rated special for the network in over two years.
Rothschild Ansaldi’s non-fiction television career started in the halls of Discovery Communications in Maryland where she served on the Production and Development teams for Travel Channel and Discovery Channel.
While at the Travel Channel, she co-created and Executive Produced the hit treasure hunting series CASH AND TREASURES and won a National Daytime Emmy for her work on PASSPORT TO LATIN AMERICA with SAMANTHA BROWN. She also served as the Executive Producer on the wildly popular WORLD POKER TOUR, which created a new vanguard in televised poker.
At Discovery Channel, Rothschild served as Supervising Producer and sat on the development team responsible for CASH CAB, DEADLIEST CATCH, I SHOULDN’T BE ALIVE, DIRTY JOBS, and PLANET EARTH. She also produced numerous specials and live events including THE LAST MYSTERIES OF THE TITANIC with JAMES CAMERON and BIKER BUILD OFF: THE ULTIMATE CHOP.
In partnership with The Content Group, BCTV has produced DOUBLING DOWN WITH THE DERRICOS for TLC and HISTORY’S GREATEST MYSTERIES: THE ESCAPE OF JOHN WILKES BOOTH for History.
BCTV is currently in development and production on several new projects for broadcast, cable, and streaming networks. Upcoming projects include two podcasts focused on criminal justice reform. THEN WHO DID IT? for Lava Media, hosted and Executive Produced by Rothschild Ansaldi, looks at wrongful murder convictions like cold cases, asking the question: if that person did not do it...then who did? THE SYSTEM for Spotify follows Rothschild Ansaldi’s investigation of the case of Kevin Keith, an Ohio man convicted of murder whose death sentence was overturned after new evidence raised doubts about his guilt. It is co-hosted and co-Executive Produced by Kim Kardashian.
